2018 DSP Award recipients at the 2018 ANCOR Annual Conference in New Orleans, LAANCOR will welcome our Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to the 2019 Annual Conference!

ANCOR is keenly aware of the critical role that our Direct Support workforce play in providing services and supports for people with disabilities to live, work, and thrive in their communities. To support the professional growth of our DSP workforce, ANCOR is pleased to continue to offer a deeply discounted conference rate to enable leadership teams to bring their DSP staff with them to attend the ANCOR Annual Conference.

In lieu of a regimented DSP Leadership Academy, we invite our DSPs to attend any conference session that fits their areas of interest and expertise. ANCOR’s Annual Conference offers a range of presentations, including sessions on direct support services that will be recommended, but not required, for DSP attendees.

Registration will open December, 2018.

Call for Sessions

ANCOR is accepting conference session proposals in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) for its 2019 Annual Conference in Portland, OR scheduled for May 6 – May 8, 2019.

We seek proposals from I/DD agency executives, operations and program managers, case managers, DSPs, business partners, researchers, policymakers, self-advocates and family members to share lessons learned, evidence-based results, replicable approaches, and practical tools to advance the ability of I/DD service providers in supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to fully participate in their communities.

Our Audience Needs:

Our attendees seek hands-on sessions that offer practical knowledge and tools they can take back and share with their teams.  They seek out innovative, out-of-the-box thinking to offer the highest quality of supports and services for people of ALL abilities to thrive as active, valued, contributing members of our communities, while navigating a complex regulatory environment, limited funding, and workforce recruitment and retention challenges.

  • Standard presentations should fit within 1-hour breakout session (45-minute presentation plus 15-minute Q&A)

Submission Deadline

Friday, November 16, 2018, 11:59 PM, Eastern

After Submission

  • Proposals will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
  • No substantive changes in content or presenters are made without prior written approval from ANCOR conference staff
  • In the event the original presenter is unable to attend the conference, a substitute presenter of equal expertise will be provided; ANCOR staff must be contacted immediately
  • ANCOR will begin contacting selected presenters in January 2019

All selected presenters agree to electronically submit their session materials by Tuesday, April 30, 2019
